I grew up watching Mowgli & his friends every sunday morning… To watch ‘The Jungle Book’ as a film was a complete nostalgic feeling bringing back your childhood days when you dreamt of getting lost in the woods only to live like Mowgli…
This brilliant piece of cinema wraps you in a magical world by immersing you in an emotional roller coaster from the first frame, it is amusingly musical, makes you hear the songs of the woods & the ferry intensity of the jungle is felt in every heart beat of the land full of fantasies… The jungle which exists only on unconditional love between two living souls from two different worlds…
Mowgli played by Neel Sethi, a human child lost in forest was raised by the wolves… you can relate to the emotions of a mother & son bonding, their love, pain & fear could be sensed on the screen… the affection & attachment between the wolf siblings & Mowgli was so adorable… even after being raised like a wolf, Mowgli tried to use his human intelligence which was not appreciated by his mother… Mowgli an obedient son, loves his life in the forested world, endlessly running & jumping through the open area with his family & junglee friends…
But his happiness of belonging to this beautiful world of nature amongst the animals ended when a cunning & revengeful Shere khan decides to kill him thus forcing him to leave the only place he knew while growing up to the land he actually belonged to by his dear friend & protector Bagheera…
With Baloo by his side the journey towards the nearby village is full of fun, laughter, bravery, tricky situations & actions… Ultimately confident & strong Mowgli decides to put an end to Shere Khan’s harassment by using his human instincts & techniques… Thus bringing back the harmony in the jungle…
A brilliant life lessons can be learnt from this film by the both the children & importantly grownups, if having a soul means able to feel love & loyalty & gratitude, than animals and humans are better off together…
The whole film is shot only between Mowgli Neel Sethi & the director Jon Favreau, rest all the charecters are created by computer graphics & one cannot spot the difference thus making it a great cinema… The voices of talented actors to the different characters of the jungle witness stellar performances by each nearly breathing life into the fantasy world…
The audiences are definitely spoilt for choices as the best actors are performing for all the versions of this film… In whichever language you decide to watch, you are surely going to have an adventurous joyride making you ask for more… You find audiences sitting in the auditorium till the silver screen turns white…
The Jungle Book is not a film but an experience to treasure… Don’t miss out on this great film…
Thrumyeyes…
