A musical so well crafted & directed by Subodh Bhave in his debut film. Though a brilliant actor, he kept his performance underrated to simplicity giving an open stage for the legends to perform.
Shankar Mahadevan & Sachin Pilgoankar lit the silver screen on fire with their mesmerising & out of the world performances as panditji & khan saab. You start believing in these characters to an extent of loving & hating them for their on screen behaviour.
For the first time I felt Amruta Khanvilkar has done a performance to remember, Mrunnmaye Despande & Sakshi Tanver are elegant in their acts never to forget the seamless act of Pushkar Shrotri as Kaviraaj.
Since it is a musical, the 17 songs, music & background score is the core of this masterpiece and to create such an aura of classical delight needs larger than life vision & melody for this the singers, music composers & sound designer has to be mentioned.
In the time when Marathi cinema was losing its shine due to surplus production of films in past few months… we get to see a master stroke from a debutant director competing with the bhai of Bollywood.
His efforts & guts to recreate a film from a classic Marathi play have to be applauded. Take a bow Subodh Bhave for bringing out the brilliance of Marathi cinema.
One simply get Mesmerised with this classic. Don’t lose an opportunity to witness this magic on silver screen.
Katyar you killed several souls not with bloodshed but with the musical swars. Giving away a clear message arrogance & ego should not be part of you if one has to excel as an Artist.
