Shaandaar

I was looking forward to write a review of a light hearted romantic comedy Shaandaar.
With the best production team, national award winner director & talented star cast. With ingredients so perfect, the dish had nothing to go wrong but what was served to me was a complete disaster utter waste of money, talent, time & taking intelligence of audiences for granted.

Vikas Bahl with such kind of direction I can only say, ‘Queen’ was luck by chance film that hit the jackpot. No seriously talented director would ever goof up in such a bad way. No clear storyline, no screenplay, no good script in place.

Mockery & shaming other caste & people will never win you applauds in fact it was your film that made a Shaandaar joke of it.

What were you thinking by showing a bride in full body hugging corset. In no sense it meant empowerment but it only showed a girl with good curves. Without even stripping her off the bridal dress, a strong social message would have been conveyed.

Shahid & Alia… I felt you did this film for your pocket money & a paid trip to the wonderland. You both tried to show some good chemistry but it failed to impress the hopelessly romantic soul in me. Karan Johar if class is about being biased & nasty in your speech than I rather not choose to be one.

I refrain from writing bad about movies because I admire the hard work put in by everyone from the spot boy to the producer in making the cinema and believe every film should do well. But Shaandaar only showcased the surplus amount of funding it had to make a shabby film just for namesake using all the great team.

My heart goes out to all those who have good story & script but no proper funding to make a good cinema. And I pity those who try to jump on & share the trailers the moment they are released as if they are the pandits knowing the fate just on seeing the minute trailer. Shaandaar is example were only trailer was worth seeing.

Cinema is a Shaandaar flow of emotions to keep one engrossed in a dark room for hours looking at a silver screen showcasing the captured moments of life…

Thrumyeyes…
