असा नट होणे नाही
In a pitch dark auditorium it is only the silver screen that lights up the different emotions & moods. It is rare to experience a pin drop silence, hundreds of eyes trying to control the tears & one can still hear the pounding of heavy hearts in those fiery cut thoart dialogues of Natasamrat.
I bow down to you in gratitude ‘Natasamrat’ urf Nana Patekar…
A life journey after retirement of a renowned actor who is bestowed with the highest award of Natasamrat will certainly make you numb.
An actor throughout the tenure is living different powerful characters in his one life trying to keep them alive thru his acts.
In this process his own individuality is lost & even after retirement he forgets to leave behind the actor on stage, instead unknowingly the actor in him erupts at various junctions thus creating unforeseen real life misery.
The glamour is so additive & contagious that it only allows to love oneself & mirror becomes your best friend allowing you to shine in the reflection of its glow…
Hence the harsh reality of an actor as an human is not conveyed to our own blood relations & the masses.
So mesmerising is this glamorous journey of being an actor that one gets attracted to shining diamonds around. Some become a tiny part of your precious heart, some gives you memories, some steal your nights yet one tries to keep them away from the woman who supported you in your journey as a better half only to fall in love all over again unfortunate the fate had some other plans…
To be or not to be is the question, to give or not to give is the decision, to bear or not to bear children is the reality.
Those parents who have worked hard throughout their lives only to give best to their children should learn from the life journey of this Natasamrat. May be you might learn to live for yourself & not to earn for your children…
A classic play by Kusumagraj transformed into a par excellent marathi cinema by Mahesh Manjrekar. After a long time we get to witness a master stroke from this director. He has justified the liberty to change some of the original script only to make it more relevant in today’s time.
One can only see Nana Patekar flowing like a river on the screen taking different forms & shapes. His age has made him look more young at heart & graceful.
It was Nana’s charm that made his wife urf Medha Manjrekar to give her best. This is one of her finest act so far. Never to miss the astonishing chemistry of two best friends whose each dialogue had a swear words & was witty. Vikram Gokhale & Nana Patekar’s chemistry was to die for, only to wish we could have seen these legends little more on screen.
Indeed all the other actors played their characters to perfection. But after all it was Natasamrat who stole the entire show…
I also want to congratulate the producers who decides to invest in such a masterpiece, we need more such people to believe in real life cinema…
Life teaches us lessons not learnt on any stage, where an actor tries to give larger than scale vision to his characters & his own blood lets him suffer the misery of being a good soul only to be cared by the unknown till he calls upon his death in style on his own stage…
Yes I am the Universe & inside me lies Hamlet, Othello & Ganpat Belwikar who are alive in many souls like me today. This is a cinema which should not be missed by anyone…
Maharashtra till date has witness hindu hridaysamrat which can be a debatable, marathi hridaysamrat which can be an questionable but there can be one & only unarguably finest Natasamrat… that is Nana Patekar…
माझा तुला साष्टांग नमस्कार…
Thrumyeyes…
