Corporate Sexual Harassment

A loads is said & written about it, pointing fingers at opposite genders for taking advantage of certain situations at work. Whom is to be blamed ?
The victim or the abuser?

In my opinion it is both & even more is the victim. Yes you read it right?

Because every victim has a right to stop anything that goes against the wish, to stop someone from touching the body, to rebel at the point when the person is about to be molested or raped. The victim has all the rights to walk out of the cabin & be vocal about the things happening at the work place.

How many of you have actually stopped the abuser at the right time?

Remember no one will ever touch you without your consent, this consent can be thru gestures, verbal conversation, messages or even healthy flirting as one does not know where to draw the line…

Even the abuser has no guts to go ahead & molest someone if he or she is giving a right signal of don’t mess with me.

On contrary what’s happening is :
People want easy success, easy promotions, wants to climb the ladder by someone’s support rather than their own efforts…

To achieve this they find easy way out & when things fall apart. Naming, shaming and blame games start. Thus washing your dirty linens in the public…

I want to question all those who have come out in open to complain about the abusers, why it took you so long? Why didn’t you stopped at the first move? Why did you let the abuser take advantage of you so long? Did you had some other interests.

The abuser needs to be punished for taking undue advantage but you were the one who could have stopped it at the first go…

When I am invited as a counseller in corporates, I let the employees open up about their traumas at work, being a stranger in the firm, I hear stories that can give goose bumps.
My job is to keep the secrecy & motivate the person to rebel at the first gesture, to take a stand for things happening against their wish, learn to say no. There is no easy short cuts for success…

If you are following all these steps & still are facing sexual harassment at work. Than you will get all the justice…

Corporate sexual harassment is a two way game. You have all the rights to oppose it & be vocal about your experience. You need not fear of loosing a job but take pride in standing for yourself…
Like me their are millions of people who will than support you…

Men & Women both face sexual harassment… Prevention is better than Cure…

Thrumyeyes…
